Mission Statement:
The mission of ACTEM (the Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine) is to enhance and influence education in Maine though the use of technology.
Vision Statement:
ACTEM, an independent, dynamic professional organization, strongly influences quality teaching and learning through the effective use of technology.
ACTEM supports its members by providing relevant professional development opportunities and resources, by aiding schools with State and local education technology initiatives, and by functioning as a purchasing consortium.
ACTEM empowers its members to leverage new and existing technology innovations to meet educational goals by facilitating communications among educators, technology leaders, vendors, policy makers, and educational visionaries.
ACTEM advocates for its members as a proactive voice in State and National discussions on education technology policy and initiatives.
Grants:
ACTEM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. As
part of our work supporting technology in education, we occasionally
pursue grant opportunities. In order to help defray the cost of these
grant activities, ACTEM has determined that 8% of any grant will go
directly to ACTEM to cover all indirect costs of operating the grant.
ACTEM's officers must agree in advance to any change to this percentage
for indirect costs. The ACTEM President will provide a letter of support
to any grant application that the organization decides to support.
If you would like to partner with ACTEM on a project, please contact one
of ACTEM's officers for more information.
