The LIVE-C Tech Update is scheduled for May 7th at the University of Maine Orono Campus. This event is designed to provide an in-depth look at the new video conferencing network being deployed throughout the state. The event is targeted to any Technology Coordinator, Administrators, or Teacher interested in learning more about this project. Please join us for this great event. Live-C has been created as a distance learning users group for K-12 teachers and technology coordinators to facilitate collaboration and building resources for integrating distance learning into the classroom.
ACTEM in partnership with the University of Maine System has received a distance learning grant that will provide a suite of video conferencing solutions designed to support the distance learning needs of every K-12 school in the state. The project will provide the following capabilities to all schools in the state:
- Access to a 30 Port High Definition Bridge
- Access to a Video Gatekeeper to provide firewall traversal services as well as a inclusion in a state wide universal video conferencing phone directory
- Use of a Content Server giving schools the ability to record and archive video conferencing sessions
- Desktop Video
- Centralized management solution
- Access to staff development and classroom content
- Information on additional grant funding opportunities
