Dream Team To Present April PackageMaker Workshops
ACTEM President Vince Vanier refers to the trio as the "Dream Team."

1582632232_8396f407ae.jpg        Renowned technology coordinators Trey Bachner (left in photo) of Falmouth and David Trask (ACTEM 2007 Educator of the Year) of Vassalboro will serve as co-facilitators, providing backup assistance for Shaun Meredith's PackageMaker training sessions during the April vacation week.

Training is free to ACTEM members and does not count against the annual $400 in technology-related professional development reimbursement each ACTEM member is eligible to apply for. The 8 AM - 4:30 PM sessions are scheduled for Falmouth High School on April 21, Vassalboro Community School on April 24, and Spectacular Events Center in Bangor April 25 (Bangor workshop is full). Enrollment at each site is limited to 20 participants and pre-registration is required (details below). Lunch will be provided.

"Use of PackageMaker installers will allow schools to quickly customize the MLTI images in an appropriate manner," noted Vince Vanier in announcing the training. "This could be a time saving training for districts all over the state"

Trainer Shaun Meredith was the senior project manager for Apple, responsible for the implementation of the World's largest educational technology program. The project consists of over 44,000 iBook computers in the hands of Maine students and educators as well as professional development programs, servers, collaboration systems, and wireless networks.  Prior to his work at Apple, Shaun was instrumental in the formation of several technology start ups in the Boston area. Shaun is the author of a patent and an avid  proponent of technology in education. He has a BS and MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is currently completing his PhD at MIT.
