Workshop Description:

Please plan to join us for ACTEM’s next professional learning session for Technology Integrators and Coaches (TICs). This session will continue what obviously worked so well in the initial session - there will be plenty of time for conversation and sharing amongst professional peers.  In this session, those conversations and sharing will be using the ISTE Standards for Coaches as a scaffold, and will include looking at the ISTE Standards for Teachers and Students as well.

Facilitated once again by Jim Moulton, the day will include multiple breakout sessions, with areas identified for peer conversations and idea and resource sharing around each of the 7 ISTE Standards for Coaches. Participants will be able to select the ISTE Standard(s) they want to focus on. Some may focus on a different Standard in each breakout session, while others may  spend more than one of the sessions focused on a single standard that is of great value to them. In this way, participants can be assured that the ideas and resources they glean from their peers will be of the most value to them and to their entire school community.

In addition, participants will be introduced to a “TICs as Educational Technology Researchers” concept - potentially serving as the foundation for a series to be offered by ACTEM during Fall 2020.

In terms of preparation, we’d like to ask folks to reflect on the ISTE Standards for coaches, and to come prepared both with ideas and resources they would like to share, as well as an awareness of where they hope to grow - which of the Standards are they hoping to increase their knowledge and activity in? https://www.iste.org/standards/for-coaches
